How to block URL with LinkSys router

Linksys routers are some of the most popular routers for home networking. The router is the interim point between computers on the network and web addresses on the Internet. Linksys routers provide many features to assist the administrator of the network with securing computers on the network and keeping the network free of malware and attacks. One line of defense against attack would be to block a URL (web address) of an offending site from the router. On Linksys routers, you can block a URL in the Administration interface for the router.

..instructions,

1.Open a web browser and type the IP address for the Administration interface for the Linksys router. For most models of Linksys routers, the IP address is "192.168.1.1." If this IP does not work, consult the router's user manual for the correct IP address to the Administrator interface.

2.Log on to the Linksys Administration interface with the administrator user ID and password.

3.Click the "Access Restrictions" option.

4.Click the "Policy" drop-down box and create a new policy by clicking on the last number in the list.

5.Type a name for the new policy in the "Policy Name" input box. Type a name for the policy to exclude the URL. For example, to exclude Microsoft, a possible name for the policy might be "Block Microsoft."

6.Click the "Edit List of PCs" button. An entry form will open, allowing the administrator to enter the IP addresses of PCs to exclude.

7.Enter the IP addresses of the computers to exclude in the section labeled "Enter the IP Addresses of the PCs" to exclude local computers.

8.Type the URL for the website to be blocked in the "Website Blocking by URL Address" input box to exclude Internet addresses from access.

9.Click the "Save Settings" button. The computers and/http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifor URLs are now blocked from passing through the Linksys router.

..In computing, a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that specifies where an identified resource is available and the mechanism for retrieving it. In popular usage and in many technical documents and verbal discussions it is often incorrectly used as a synonym for URI.[1] The best-known example of the use of URLs is for the addresses of web pages on the World Wide Web, such as http://www.example.com/

Problem with my RE1000 Linksys range extender

My wireless router is in the basement and there is a PC there connected to it by wire. I have the RE1000 which sits next to a pc and is supposed to give range to the pc, as well as one lap top, an Ipad, two iphones.

Unfortunately the devices upstairs (the mobile phones, ipad and the laptop) keep losing their internet signal multiple times during the day.

Turning off the wi-fi and then on, helps, but momentarily. What is the solution? Should I use a secondary extender?
