How Using a VoIP Phone Service Can Cost You Your Life

Internet phone calls are becoming more famous day by day. It is important first for you to know what a VoIP service is.

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, also known as voice over Internet Protocol.

It is a way of transferring your audio over internet by converting it to digital data. This data is transmitted over internet instead of phone lines.

How does it Work?
For a VoIP service you first need to have a broadband connection and a VoIP phone system installed on your PC. And if your friend has the same you may make a phone call. The data is transferred over internet, when you make a call the data is first transferred to your VoIP Company's call processor, then from there it is transferred to your friend's computer. This method of calling is less expensive then the original phone system.

The VoIP has many advantages like low call costs as the internet becomes more common.

There are many services for which you will be charged highly on a traditional phone line, such as Caller ID, Return Call, Call waiting, Call transfer, three-way calling but while using a VoIP service you do not have to pay much.

So what's the Problem with using VoIP Phones?

One of the major constraints with the VoIP is that you must have a good high speed internet connection to make clear calls, and you computer system must also be nice one.

The VoIP works well as your connection and computer is good.

Your computer must also be able to handle the calls coming, and must not be overloaded by other programs running on the computer. The VoIP signals will be weakened if your computer isn't powerful enough.

The most important thing is the emergency call 911, you sure can make the call but they won't be able to track your location, this is a challenge for VoIP. In future the VoIP service wire will cover up this problem also.

One another problem is that there is no standard for VoIP to be followed around the globe. There is a probability that in future the traditional phone lines may be totally replaced by the VoIP services.
