Create email signatures in Windows Mail - How to

You can create and add signatures to all outgoing emails from Windows Mail. The signatures can be simple text with your name and contact details or more complex and visually appealing with images and special fonts. In this article I will show you step-by-step how to create simple text based email signatures for the Vista Windows Mail email client. The next page has details on how to add color and images to your email signatures but do go through this once so you understand the procedure.

Adding a new signature in Windows Mail

Click on "Tools" to bring up its menu and select "Options".

This displays a pop-up window with a whole lot of tabs. The one we are interested in is the "Signatures" tab. Click on it to bring it in front.

Hit the "New" button which create a blank template signature named "Signature #1".

Now move down to the "Edit Signature" section and ensuring the "Text" radio button is selected, start entering the text you want in the email signature.

The first signature you create is the default and will be used on any email messages you compose. You can also give a more descriptive name to this signature.
Putting signatures on all outgoing emails in Windows Mail

In Windows Mail you can turn on the feature of adding your signature to all outgoing emails. Once you have created your first email signature, go to the "Options" window (Tools -> Options) and put a checkmark in front of "Add signatures to all outgoing messages" and uncheck "Don't add signatures to Replies and Forwards". This ensures your signature is included in all outgoing emails including replies.
Giving each email account its own signature

Windows Mail lets you have several email signatures - both simple text and more complex ones with images and fancy fonts. Furthermore, you can specify which signature to use for which email account.
To do this, first select a signature and then click on the "Advanced" button. This brings up a small window that lists all the email accounts configured in you Windows Mail software. Put a checkmark in front of the email address for which you want to use the signature.

Contents of an email signature

Here is a quick rundown of things you can put in your email signature:

* Your name
* Your contact details - can include your full postal address, phone and fax numbers, email addresses
* Web site address - This is something you should include - helps to spread the word
* The logo of your company -as mentioned above, you can put images in email signatures
* Any ongoing promotions of your company - don't leave a single opportunity to sell :-)

How Using a VoIP Phone Service Can Cost You Your Life

Internet phone calls are becoming more famous day by day. It is important first for you to know what a VoIP service is.

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, also known as voice over Internet Protocol.

It is a way of transferring your audio over internet by converting it to digital data. This data is transmitted over internet instead of phone lines.

How does it Work?
For a VoIP service you first need to have a broadband connection and a VoIP phone system installed on your PC. And if your friend has the same you may make a phone call. The data is transferred over internet, when you make a call the data is first transferred to your VoIP Company's call processor, then from there it is transferred to your friend's computer. This method of calling is less expensive then the original phone system.

The VoIP has many advantages like low call costs as the internet becomes more common.

There are many services for which you will be charged highly on a traditional phone line, such as Caller ID, Return Call, Call waiting, Call transfer, three-way calling but while using a VoIP service you do not have to pay much.

So what's the Problem with using VoIP Phones?

One of the major constraints with the VoIP is that you must have a good high speed internet connection to make clear calls, and you computer system must also be nice one.

The VoIP works well as your connection and computer is good.

Your computer must also be able to handle the calls coming, and must not be overloaded by other programs running on the computer. The VoIP signals will be weakened if your computer isn't powerful enough.

The most important thing is the emergency call 911, you sure can make the call but they won't be able to track your location, this is a challenge for VoIP. In future the VoIP service wire will cover up this problem also.

One another problem is that there is no standard for VoIP to be followed around the globe. There is a probability that in future the traditional phone lines may be totally replaced by the VoIP services.

Please take note that Philippine banks do not use IBAN – International Bank Account Number. The only time you will use IBAN is if you are sending money to European banks.

PLEASE READ:

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (”SWIFT”) operates a worldwide financial messaging network. Messages are securely and reliably exchanged between banks and other financial institutions. SWIFT also markets software and services to financial institutions, much of it for use on the SWIFTNet Network, and ISO 9362 bank identifier codes are popularly known as “SWIFT codes”.

It is the unique identification code of a particular bank. These codes are used when transferring money between banks, particularly for international wire transfers, and also for the exchange of other messages between banks. The codes can sometimes be found on account statements.

The majority of international interbank messages use the SWIFT network. As of December 2007 SWIFT linked 8,332 financial institutions in 208 countries.

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) handles the registration of these codes. For this reason, Bank Identifier Codes (BICs) are often called SWIFT addresses or codes.

There are over 7,500 “live” codes (for partners actively connected to the BIC network) and an estimated 10,000 additional BIC codes which can be used for manual transactions.

IBAN (International Bank Account Number)

In europe among the european countries, ever since they acceded to euro currency, the interbank payment transactions had become very easier, cheaper and under single currency euro. It became mandatory for Banks in the EU to issue IBANs, on request, on all accounts from 2001. By introduction of IBAN (International Bank Account Number) one single account number is enough to receive payments from europe or worldwide. This IBAN account number contains information about

* Beneficiary Account number
* Bank Clearing Code (BLZ in germany, Code guichet in france)
* Destination Country

Besides this, each bank worldwide are allotted and identified by a unique code known as SWIFT code or BIC (Bank Identification Code). The SWIFT organisation is responsible for allotting SWIFT or BIC codes to banks worldwide. Their website is swift.com. They also publish very latest updated SWIFT codes for banks or institutions in their website.

The IBAN was developed to facilitate payments within the European Union. Customers, especially individuals and SMEs, are frequently confused by differing national standards for bank account numbers. The IBAN is not yet used for routing, because the IBAN has not been widely adopted outside Europe, among other reasons. The ECBS expects that adoption may take up to ten years, so it remains necessary to use the current ISO 9362 Bank Identifier Code system (BIC or SWIFT code) in conjunction with the BBAN or IBAN.

At present, the United States does not participate in IBAN, although in Mexico they have a similar system called the CLABE. Any adoption of the IBAN standard by U.S. banks would likely be initiated by ANSI ASC X9, the U.S. financial services standards development organization.

Currently all European non-CIS countries, as well as Israel, Tunisa, Mauritius, and Turkey participate in the IBAN system, while the rest of the world remains outside of it. British dependencies (except Gibraltar and the Crown Dependencies) don’t participate in the IBAN system.
